I had a patient who came to
the office May of this year. He was
eleven years old with Tourette syndrome.
His symptoms consisted of very loud vocal and motor tics, along with
tight muscles in his thoracic spine due to a side bend tic. He was diagnosed with T.S. when he was 4 years
old that became progressively worse over the years. I took x-rays of his cervical spine, and then
performed sEMG and Thermal scans on him to determine
his motor and autonomic nerve health. On x-ray the second cervical vertebra had
quite a bit of rotation. I used
diversified technique on his entire spine, master cervical to his atlas and
axis. After 12 visits a re-exam with the
Thermal scan and sEMG were performed, the changes were significant, upon the first
visit there were red and black bars (severe) and after 12 visits many had
changed to green and blue (mild and moderate).
He also had minimal if any vocal tics along with motor tics. He was also able to get off all his
medication after just the first 12 visits.
After another 12 visits, 24 in total, I re-x-rayed his cervical spine
and saw a significant improvement in the rotation of his C2, along with
improvement in both neurological scans.
He now rates his tics a 2 out of 10.
His mother said they have never been this minimal before, he plays many
sports and now has a chance to stand out due to his performance and not due to
his tics.
